Meet Ivy
The Ivy Mission is a company belief inspired by Ivy Glen, a cherished family friend who passed away in March 2012. Ivy was a single mother who, in spite of many challenges, always put the needs of her family first and brought joy to all she touched. She lived an inspiring life that was a testament to family, faith, and serving in the community. Ivy affirmed our belief that every story matters and has a purpose. She taught us that we are here to live in community with one another and that everyone has something to offer.
It is appropriate that her name was Ivy, as, like an ivy plant, we want to spread hope and inspiration to those we serve.
What Impact has
the“Ivy Mission” had?
Our Ivy Mission has created many jobs for moms and women at seasons in their lives where they need to have a flexible work-life balance and the ability to work remotely. This has included providing jobs for some who have been on government assistance and has helped them build confidence and get back into the workforce. One of our biggest blessings has been having the privilege to walk alongside Portley, Ivy’s daughter, after her passing. Portley worked for MyBabbo as a Legacy Creator to assist with her bills while she attended the University at Brock. She went on to get her Master of Political Science at the University of Saskatchewan and now works for the government in Toronto.
We are so proud of everything Portley has accomplished, and we know Ivy would be, too!
