What information do I need before placing a personalized order?
  • It depends on the product you order, but most personalized products require the following information: Full name, birth and death dates, a design theme choice from our wide range of options, a main photo to use as the portrait photo, photos from the life being celebrated, and then any custom product specific inputs (eg. service details, obituary, verse choice, and music options).

How will I know the status of my order?
  • When you login on your dashboard you can easily see the order status.  
  • We will also email you when you have placed an order and when your product is completed.

Do you offer any discounts for bulk orders?
  • Yes, we have a Bundle and Save option that offers exclusive savings when you combine multiple products.  We also offer volume discounts on our Stationery Products.

What type of file format for photos can I upload?
  • We prefer and recommend uploading .jpeg images
  • We accept most image formats including .heic, .png, .pdf, .tiff.

What photo resolution do you recommend?
  • 300 dpi (dots per inch)

Do you have any tips for selecting the best photos?
  • Quality matters! Make sure your files are not thumbnails and avoid taking screenshots from social media, rather save the full resolution file.  
  • Less is more! Avoid multiple photos that are very similar looking or a lot from the same event, just pick your favourites. 
  • Try to tell their story - Collect photos that show the range of people and interests your loved one shared throughout their lifetime if possible.

How do you recommend we digitize my printed photos?
  • Scan these if you have access to a scanner.
  • Take a photo on your phone.   
  • Use a photo scanning app like PhotoScan or Photomyne.

How do you recommend I collect photos for my order?
  • You’re in luck!  MyBabbo provides a photo gallery link per order where families, the funeral home and MyBabbo can collaborate in one place.  This makes it super easy to collect your photos for your project.  No more emailing, texting or photo transfer links as they can all be in one place.

What is the difference between personalized stationery and stationery products?
  • Personalized stationery is a group of stationery that we help you personalize with photos, text and a design of your choice.  These outputs include cards, bookmarks, candles, signage, and creating a portrait.  
  • Stationery products are our bulk products you can purchase to stock in-house and personalize as needed.  This includes: guest books, box sets, blank paper stock, and candles.

  • Our stationery design files include a portrait, cards (memorial card, prayer card or service program), guest book pages, bookmarks, candles, and signage (room board, donation, reception and crypt marker).

What is meant by 2up, 4up, 8up?
  • These are print-ready files to print in-house with multiple cards on a page.
  • Memorial Cards are set up as either 2up (2 cards on a 8.5x11 paper) or 4up (4 cards on 11x17 paper)
  • Prayers Cards are set up as 8up (8 cards on a 8.5x11 paper)
  • Bookmarks are set up as either 4up (4 bookmarks on a 8.5x11 paper) or 2up (2 larger bookmarks on a 8.5x11 paper).

What type of printing capabilities do I require if I want to print stationery in-house?
  • Our partners print on a large range of printers and we do not require a specific printer.  We can help you with printer set up when you begin and will ensure we test prior to launching with MyBabbo.

Do you have print and delivery services for stationery?
  • Yes, we can print and deliver, but you need to allow for additional time.  Timing depends on the shipping service you select and the majority of shipping companies do not deliver on weekends, so take that into consideration.

What is the advantage of printing in-house?
  • Timing! it is a quicker process to print-in-house.  
  • Control over last-minute changes or needing to print more at time of service.   
  • Lower cost, so you can usually make more margin.

  • Higher quality prints - we can print to edge and use premium paper stock (eg. soft-touch laminate and heavier paper weight) than most funeral homes can.

Can I create the stationery myself with your software?
  • We have 2 options for stationery: some text
    1. Stationery Design Services - We design it for you and your personalization is endless.  With this service you also have access to our MyBabbo exclusive designs and every order includes a portrait and a QR code with Memorial Site.  
    2. Tribute Creator - This is a DIY service where you can use our basic Tribute Creator software to create stationery yourself when you purchase our guest books and paper stock.

Is a portrait included in every order?
  • Yes!  For any of our design services we will include a free portrait.  The main photo is an important one, so we want to make sure it looks great.  We will use the portrait in all parts of your personalized order, including the video tribute, photo book or any photo gifts.

Can I order just the portrait on its own?
  • Yes! This is charged separately. It is included if you order any other product.

What touchups do you do to your portraits?
  • We will remove the background, touch up any blemishes, glare from glasses, red eye, as well as remove other people or anything distracting from the photo.

How many photos are in your Video Tributes?
  • Our price includes up to 100 photos.  We can put as many as you need, we just charge more for any over 100.  Keep in mind the length of the slideshow based on the # of photos.

How long is a Video Tribute?
  • Approximately 3+ minutes for every 25 photos, so, for example, 100 photos is approx. 12.5 min, 50 photos is approx. 6.5 min.

  • We have licensed instrumental music, but if your family wants to personalize the video with custom music we allow that too.

Do you recommend letting the family select their design?
  • You know your families best, but we like to encourage the “Less is More” mentality.  Families are not there to plan a Photo Book, so we suggest selecting on their behalf.  We have printed over 100,000 Photo Books and we have never been asked to reprint because of the design selected.

  • A private site for your families to pay tribute to their loved one’s legacy through the sharing of the keepsakes created, stories and photos post-service.

  • You can view, share and purchase all the keepsakes created by MyBabbo - all stationery items, Photo Book, and Video Tribute.  
  • Upload photos and videos into a photo gallery.
  • Contribute meaningful stories.
  • Access grief care material by Dr. Bill Webster, Center for the Grief Journey.
  • Stay in touch with families with automated, personalized, and customizable emails generated with grief care support that are delivered at important milestones (birthday, holiday season, and anniversary) throughout the first year.

How is the Memorial Site different from the condolence sites on your funeral home website?
  • These are completely different and for a different occasion.  The focus of these sites are post-service and are intended to help assist families with the grief journey through the sharing of memories through their photos and stories.  The funeral home’s condolence sites are primarily a place for family and friends pre-service to view the service details, read the obituary, leave a condolence message and possibly upload a photo or make a donation.

What are the benefits for the funeral home of the Memorial Site?
  • Extend your care after the service as these sites are available for 1 year following the date of death.  
  • Provide families with a grief care tool that will assist them in the grief journey through the sharing of photos and stories.  
  • Strong marketing tool as the sites are branded with your logo and a link back to your website.  Also, people LOVE to share photos, so increased impressions by sharing with others in their community.    
  • Drive revenue through the purchase of additional keepsakes.  
  • Provide a turn-key solution to keep in touch with the family throughout the first year after the passing with personalized automated emails generated from the site.  Occasions include, birthday, Christmas and 1-year anniversary.

How do families access the Memorial Site?
  • We have a QR code that is generated for every order.  If you put the QR code on any of your stationery, anyone can access it through scanning the QR code.  
  • We will also email the family on your behalf with a link to their site.  
  • You can also copy the link and share it.

When does the first email go out to the family?
  • This is based on how you set it up in your account.  The timing options are: some text
    • When workflow is complete 
    • Visitation date + 1 day 
    • Visitation date + 7 days 
    • Visitation date + 30 days

What are the email messages? Can I edit these?
  • We have automated emails set up in your account that you can edit and personalize to reflect your funeral home.

Are there different user rights and what is the difference?
  • There are 3 types of user accounts with the following rights: some text
    • Super Admin - the funeral home has full access to all features that Administrators have + they can turn on and off parts of the site, set pricing for keepsakes and edit email automations.  
    • Admin - ability to approve or decline any contributions (photos and stories), and can add and delete any content.  
    • Contributors - ability to upload photos and stories and to purchase a keepsake, but cannot manage any of the media uploaded.

How long are the Memorial Sites available for?
  • 1 year following the date of death.

Do I have to show all the sections of the Memorial Site?
  • Your funeral home can manage everything from your Account and have the option to show or hide the photo gallery, stories, and keepsakes.

  • Funeral Homes control the pricing of the keepsakes on the Memorial Site.  You can make the same margin on the site as you do through the funeral home.

How do I track orders placed on the Memorial?
  • When someone places an order on the site you will receive an email notifying you.  You will also see on your dashboard an order ID with an S in front of the ID# to represent it was a site order (e.g. S508).  There is also a separate tab on your dashboard that lists all Memorial Site orders.

How do I collect the profit generated on the Memorial Sites?
  • Each month you will receive a credit on your invoice for all Memorial Site orders placed.

How can I use the Memorial Site to keep in touch with families throughout the year following the service?
  • You have the ability in your account to turn on or off automated email messages that we will send on your behalf to the family.  You can craft the email message in your account.
